Super Green Matcha Juice

If you are looking for some extra energy then this super green matcha juice is the perfect recipe for you! I prefer to get my extra vitamins from natural plant sources rather than from a jar. Ever since the kids were babies we have been juicing on a daily basis and if I skip a day then the kids are asking “where’s the juice?”! It’s led them to eat healthily in every way and I am so proud of the fact that they have rarely been sick. Long may it continue.

This super green match juice is simple to make and is full of vitamins from organic ingredients. I juice all the vegetables and fruit first then add the green matcha at the end. You can make this the night before so you are ready to go the next morning! Matcha is packed with antioxidants, full of fibre and chlorophyll and numerous vitamins. Kale is also loaded with antioxidants, Vitamin C and helps lower cholesterol.

Alternatively to juicing, this super green match juice can also be blended to retain all the fibres. Just add all the ingredients and blend in a high speed blender such as the thermomix. Add the matcha paste and blend thoroughly. You can add 2 ripe avocados to make a delicious smoothie. 

I buy all my fruit and vegetables at the Mahon Point Farmer’s Market in Cork as I know they are organic and full of goodness. Check out your local farmer’s market to find your local produce to start your day the healthy way!

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • 6 large stems of fresh kale
  • 2 florets of broccoli
  • 2 large pieces of celery
  • 1 inch cube ginger
  • ½ inch fresh turmeric
  • 2 apples
  • ½ cucumber

Instructions

Dissolve the matcha powder and boiling water in a tea cup and set aside.

Prepare all the vegetables by washing and cutting into chunks to fit in your juicer. Half the apples and remove pips. 

Juice the vegetables and apples to produce the juice. Mix the juice and the matcha paste thoroughly. 

Pour into glasses and serve with ice or store in an airtight glass bottle until required. Enjoy!

Notes

Variation 1: Place all the ingredients in a high powered blender and blend at high speed. Variation 2: Add 2 ripe avocados to the juice and blend in a high speed blender such as the thermomix to produce a delicious green smoothie.
